It’s always feels extra special when our friends come to us for their photography needs, especially when they themselves are fellow photographers.  Miranda and Becca are actually friends from Brooks Institute, where we all graduated from college.  Her and her handsome finance, Travis, came down to San Diego for their engagement session before heading off to Japan, where Travis was being stationed. Between our beautiful couple, the fantastic weather, and some killer cherry blossoms, we couldn’t have asked for a better shoot.  Congrats to you two love birds, and enjoy your Japanese adventure!!!

Elizabeth and James are extra, extra sweet.  When we met for our consultation, they expressed how special Sunset Cliffs was to them, as they are both graduates of PLNU, which overlooks San Diego’s iconic cliffside in Ocean Beach.  After about thirty minutes of fun in Old Town, we cruised over to the Cliffs.  We took great advantage of the wildflowers blooming just to the north of the park, as well as the always beautiful sunset.  They were such a fun couple to shoot, always smiling and laughing – especially James!  He has such a sweet smile, and it grows the second he looks at Liz.  Thanks so much for having us capture your love you two!

As our wedding season this year wraps up, it’s fun to look back on the celebrations we’ve been able to photograph.  One of my personal favorites of the year was Dacey and Joey’s elopement in Coronado.  Photographing their intimate ceremony and party was a wonderful contrast to the large scale events we are so used to.  The words that Dacey and Joey shared about each other were so beautiful and loving, and it felt extra special being one of about 25 people to hear them.  Looking at the photos, I bet you can’t tell that poor Joey broke his ribs just a week before the ceremony in a soccer match!  He was too in love with his lady to even flinch at the pain.  I loved finding new hidden spots to photograph around Centennial Park, and their small afterparty at a private rented house in la Jolla was perfect in every way.  Thank you so much for having us share in such an intimate and special day, we love you guys!!!

Our lovely friend Kim and her fiancé Greg brought the most adorable little love bug into the world, and little Quinn is an absolute heartbreaker.  She endured a marathon session involving quite a few sets and props, but it was worth all the fuss and muss when you end up with such adorable shots.  I mean, that photo of her in the little boat?! SO CUTE!  I think that was the overall favorite, especially by dad, who is an avid sailor and lover of all things boating.  It was so lovely shooting your beautiful family Kim, thank you so much for having Becca and I over for a photo session and a lot of baby cheek squishing!  Congratulations on your beautiful daughter, we are so excited to see her grow!

We here at FCS are very fortunate to not only work with the lovely staff at San Diego Magazine, but be friends with them as well.  So you can imagine our delight when our good friend and Editor at SDM, Erin, asked Becca and I to photograph her and Wayne’s beautiful day.  We had the honor of photographing her sister Jenn’s wedding to her husband Bryan earlier in the year, so it was awesome to spend another spectacular day with their family!  Erin and Wayne chose to get ready for their big day at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, which is an absolutely beautiful location.  Everything was made official at The Village Presbyterian Church just down the street, and the party got wild at The Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.  Everything from the dress to the flowers to the location was so elegant and beautiful, it was a perfect combination of chic and romantic!  What made this particular wedding extra special, aside from everything above, is that we’ve known Erin since pre-Wayne days.  It was so beautiful to watch the relationship grow, from the first dates to meeting Wayne’s adorable son, Russell, to the ring and then the wedding.  She was radiating happiness from the inside out, and Wayne brings out the absolute happiest version of Erin that we’ve ever seen.  We are so excited for them, and the adventure that awaits!

Editors note: By the time this blog post was published, Erin and Wayne have welcomed into the world and beautiful and healthy baby boy, Tristan!  We love you guys, congratulations!!!
